It was a heartbreaking season ending for our Pirates but we would like to wish St Catherines and Welland all the best in the next round. We would also like to thank each and every single one of our fans and everyone that had come out to all of our season games plus our playoffs games to support the Pirates, We greatly appreciate it and look forward to a another new season and another new run in the playoffs for the championship. To the Port Colborne Pirates heck of a run for you boys keep your heads up high, You guys always fought with heart and determination and when you played, you played your game. PIRATES TAKE GAME 2Your hometown Port Colborne Pirates would win a big on in Welland on Sunday as the defeated them by the score of 3-0. Port Colborne dominated mostly all of the game while welland would show a little push during the period but in the ending Welland could not beat Port's netminder Réal Cormier. Pirates Nathan Judd-Warren would open the scoring in the first for the Pirates on a blue line goal assisted by Charlie Izaguirre, and Bryan Komasara. Second period action would be opened with scoring by Pirates Zach DeConcilys on a powerplay assisted by Pat Murphy and Dayne Phillips, Zach DeConcilys would open the third on another powerplay on assists by Pat Murphy and Bryan Komasara. Pirates would go 2 for 5 on the powerplay while Welland would go 0 for 9 on the powerplay, Shots on goal at the end of the game were 50 to 27 for Welland, Penalty totals of the game for the Pirates were 30 minutes on 15 infractions and Welland were 22 minutes on 11 infractions, Stars of the game would go to Pirates Réal Cormier, Zach DeConsilys and Pat Murphy. Port Colborne would take the win 3-0 and tie the series with welland 1-1, Your Pirates next playoff action will be this coming Tuesday March 19th at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre at a 7:30pm gametime start.
WELLAND TAKES GM 1Welland took Game 1 on Friday March 15th as they defeated the Port Colborne Pirates by a score of 3-2. This game showed welland dominating the first and second period of the game but the Pirates dominated the third period as they never gave up and kept fighting to tie the game even in the last few seconds of the game. Welland opened the first period with scoring by Jason Lacroix on assists by Nicholas Briggs. In the second period Pirates Dylan Burdick would tie the game on assists by Trevor Smith. In the third Welland would jump up to a 2-1 lead on a penalty shot goal by Matthew Meteljan, shortly after Welland would jump up 3-1 over the Pirates on a goal by Chris Langdon on assists by Braden Curry and Josh Gervais, Pirates would get one more cutting Welland's lead 3 to 2 on a magnificent goal by Zach DeConcilys assisted by Dima Lavrenov. Welland would go 0 for 4 on powerplays and the Pirates would go 0 for 2 on the powerplay, Shots of goal at the end of the game were 44 to 39 in favour of Welland. PIRATES WIN SERIES AND MOVES ONYour Port Colborne Pirates defeated the visiting Fort Erie Meteors on friday 6-2 to not only take the game but the series. Prior to the game Conference Assistant Convenor, presented the 2013 February Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenceman of the Month to Port Colborne Pirates Pat Murphy, Congratulations Pat Well Deserved. This game was based fully on hockey skills demonstrated by only 32 minutes of penalities being handed out, the Meteors determination was shown by this team tonight despite them being behind by four goal and continued into even the last five seconds of the game amidst wild cheering from the crowd. Fort Erie Meteors Jesse Pereira opened the scoring for the Meteors on a powerplay assisted by Andy Sturtz and Braeden Kavaravtzis, three minuted later Pirates Nick Berst answered back with a goal for the Pirates assisted by Dylan Burdick and Trevor Smith. First period action saw Pirates Charlie Izaguirre scoring two goals; his first was assisted by Miachael Sharp and Bryan Komasara and his second assisted by Jordan Warren and Dima Lavrenov. Second period action was opened up with scoring by Pirates Dima Lavrenov on a powerplay assisted by Pirates Captain Dayne Phillips, Pirates fifth goal would be scored by Bryan Komasara assisted by Nathan Judd Warren and Charlie Izaguirre. Pirates Charlie Izaguirre would score the Pirates sixth and final goal of the night giving Charlie his third of the night on assists by Dayne Phillips and Nathan Judd Warren, Meteors captain Nik Passero would answer back shortly after with a goal with assists coming from Braeden Kavaravtzis and Dallas Ingram. Shots on goal for the first period were 19 for the Pirates and 9 for the Pirates, all the scoring would come within the first and second with the third being scoreless. At the final buzzer the Pirates would go on to defeat the Fort Erie Meteors by a score of 6-2 to move them onto the second round of playoff action to face the Welland Junior Canadians. Shots on goal at the end of the game were 46 to 22 in favour of the Port Colborne Pirates, Stars of the game were Pirates Charlie Izaguirre, Nathan Judd Warren and Captain Dayne Phillips. Port Colborne Pirates next playoff action will see them face off against their highway 58' rivals the Welland Junior Canadians. PIRATES TAKE THE LEADYour Port Colborne Pirates defeated the Fort Erie Meteors 6-1 in last nights intense and physical hockey game. Pirates Dima Lavrenov opened the scoring the first period on assists by Trevor Smith and Jordan Warren, however the Meteors would answer back with their only goal of the night coming by Meteors Captain Nik Passero assisted by Andy Sturtz and Braeden Kavaravtzis. Second period action would be opened up with scoring by Pirates Charlie Izaguirre on assists by Zach DeConcilys and Pirates Captain Dayne Phillips, Pirates Dima Lavrenov would score shortly after to give the Pirates a 3-1 lead over the Meteors on assists by Trevor Smith and Joe Dagostino. Third period playoff action would be opened up with scoring by Pirates Charlie Izaguirre on assists by Bryan Komasara and Joe Dagostino, Pirates would score two more goals to make it a 6-1 final with the fith goal of the night for the Pirates scored by Zach DeConcilys on assists by Captain Dayne Phillips and Dima Lavrenov, the Pirates sixth and final goal of the night would come from Dylan Burdick on a powerplay on assists from Michael Sharp and Charlie Izaguirre. All goals except for Charlie Izaguirre's in the third and Zach DeConcilys's goal were powerplay goals. Two game misconducts for checking from behind were handed out in the game, the first one being handed out to Pirates Jordan Warren who would receive a Checking from Behind (GM50) and a Checking from Behind Game Misconduct(GM50/51) and the other to Nathan Judd Warren who would receive a Checking from Behind(GM50) and Checking from Behind Game Misconduct (GM50/51) both of these misconducts would come within the second. Meteors Austin Carroll and Nik Passero as well as Pirates Pol Gonzalez and Pat Murphy would all receive Misconducts for inciting an opponent. 88 minuts in penalties were handed out and both teams reveived 44 penalty minutes each, Shots of goal were 56 to 35 in favour of the Pirates. Stars of the game are Pirates Dima Lavrenov, Charlie Izaguirre and Meteors Nik Passero, Pirates would score 4 of 9 on the powerplay while the Meteors would score 1 of 9 on the powerplay. PIRATES WIN BIGThe Port Colborne Pirates win big as they defeated the visiting Fort Erie Meteors with a 6-3 win in their first ever win at the Vale Health & Wellness Centre. Pirates took an intense game 3 with the help of Trevor Smith, Jordan Warren and Dima Lavrenov with 3 quick goals within the first period. Trevor Smith opened the scoring on assists by Dayne Phillips and Dima Lavrenov. Pirates second goal was scored by Jordan Warren with the assists of Nathan Judd Warren and John DiLorenzo, Pirates third goal was a shorthand goal scored by Dima Lavrenov on assists by John DiLorenzo and Pirates netminder Réal Cormier. Second period action was opened up with scoring by Dima Lavrenov getting his second goal of the game on assists by Zach DeConsylis and Dayne Phillips. Fort Erie Meteors would however score two goals after with Braeden Kavaravtzis scoring the Meteors first on assists by Kyle Davis and Andy Sturtz. Meteors second goal would come from Mike Boles on assists by Aaron Wanat and Dallas Ingram. Third Period action opened up with scoring by Meteors Braeden Kavaravtzis getting his second of the game on assists by Andy Sturtz and Dallas Ingram. Pirates would score two more to finish the game with the first coming by Pirates Captain Dayne Phillips on assists by Dima Lavrenov and Zach DeConsylis, Pirates final goal scored of the game would come from Bryan Komasara on assists by Charlie Izaguirre and Nick Berst. Pirates Dima Lavrenov had 2 goals and 2 assist for a 4 point night. The game saw 50 minutes of Penalties to the Pirates and 28 to the Meteors, Jordan Warren left the game in the first period after receiving a game misconduct for checking from behind. Meteors goalie Wyatt Pickrell was replaced in goal by Connor Visca in the first period and Pirates Morgan Hudson replaced Réal Cormier in net in the third after Cormier received a gross misconduct for shooting the puck over the glass. Receiving 10-minute misconducts were Pirates Dima Lavrenov and Meteors Andrew Reis for inciting opponents, also Pirates Dylan Burdick and Nathan Judd Warren would receive penalties for abuse of officials. The Pirates penalty killing was substantial in this game. Last few minutes of the third period the Fort Erie Meteors would get a powerplay chance and they would pull Connor Visca to have a 6 on 3 powerplay, however the Pirates would stop the Meteors on this powerplay to win the game. Shots on goal for the game were 35 to 34 favouring the Port Colborne Pirates, and stars of the game were Pirates Dima Lavrenov, John DiLorenzo and Meteors Braeden Kavaravtzis. Pirates win a big one in their home building with a 6-3 win and now lead the series 2 to 1 over the Fort Erie Meteors. Game 4 of this series will be played on March 6th in Fort Erie at the Fort Erie Leisureplex at a 7:15pm gametime start.
PIRATES TAKE GM 2In the second playoff game intense action, The Port Colborne Pirates was visiting the Fort Erie Meteors and came out of their barn with a 9-1 victory. Pirates Bryan Komasara scored a hatrick giving him 3 out of the 9 goals scored within the game for the Pirates, with Charlie Izaguirre assisting on three, Jordan Warren assisting on two, and Blaine Bechard assisting on one. Charlie Izaguirre scored a goal assisted by Jordan Warren, Zach DeConcilys scored two goals one unassisted and the other assisted by Dima Lavrenov. Dima Lavrenov also scored a goal assisted by Jordan Warren and Thomas Sestini. Dylan Burdick would be tripped up and awarded a penalty shot where he sweatly beat Fort Erie's netminder Connor Visca, the last few seconds of the game would show Pirates Jordan Bolibruck beating the Meteors netminder to score the ninth and final goal of the game on assists by Blaine Bechard and John DiLorenzo. The Fort Erie Meteors only goal of the game would be scored by Aaron Wanat. Port Colborne Pirates and Fort Erie Meteors third playoff game will take place on Tuesday March 5th at a 7:30pm gametime start at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre in Port Colborne.
METEORS TAKE GM 1On Friday March 1st, The Port Colborne Pirates took on the Fort Erie Meteors in their first ever playoff game at their new home the Vale Health & Wellness Centre. Fort Erie took Game 1 by winning of the score of 2-1 over the Pirates, The game was held scoreless after one with Pirates Pat Murphy scoring a stellar goal assisted by Dayne Phillips and Bryan Komasara to open the scoring in the second along with Fort Erie Meteors Richard DeMarco assisted by Andy Sturtz. Meteors second goal of the 2nd period would come from Andy Sturtz assisted by Austin Carroll and Braeden Kavaravtzis. Fort Erie had 22 penalty minutes while Port Colborne Pirates only had 10 penalty minutes. The Port Colborne Pirates will take on The Fort Erie Meteors on Saturday March 2nd, at a gametime start of 7:30pm at the Fort Erie Leisureplex.

The Port Colborne Pirates are soon to have the number one facility in Jr Hockey. This state of the art facility will boast the best to train in and play hockey in. This facility will have two pools, two rinks, field house and work out facilities and much more. ![]() The Pirates congatulate the St Catharines Falcons on winning the GHC Championship. We are very proud of our boys for such a hard fought series and for representing this organiztion, the city of Port Colborne in such a classy manner. Four years ago a young player came to camp and wanted nothing more than to play JR hockey for his home town. From that wonderfull goal four yrs ago you scored on a breakaway against Thorold to the last one against the Falls we will never forget watching you grow into the player, leader and young man that you have become. It was truly a priviledge to have had you in our organization, the dressing rooms of the West Side Arena will never be the same without you. I know that you have lead by example and taught the younger players to take your place for next year. Good luck Dillon we enjoyed every minute. Tim Toffolo Mayor Badawey Wins Bet with Welland Mayor Sharp![]() Pirates Win in Double OT in Game Seven![]() The Port Colborne Pirates Wowed the Niagara hockey world by coming back from a three to zero lead in games by the Welland Canadian's to sweep them in the next four games in dramatic fashsion by winning the last two games in OT the last game being in double OT. Cole Rubinoff scored both game winners. This was one of the greatest series ever played in Pirate history. |
